How syncing works

Synced: note titles, icons, rich text and inline images.
Kept local: screen placement, rail order and keyboard shortcut.
Offline edits: pending changes are delivered when the Mac reconnects.
Deletes and backups: deletions propagate, so sync is not a backup. Export a backup archive from the menu.

How does activation work?

Your purchase email includes a single-use activation code. The first online activation binds it to one Mac installation. Koala then verifies the licence locally and works offline.

Does Koala require an account?

Koala does not require a Koala account. iCloud sync is optional and uses the private iCloud database for the Apple Account you choose.
